Hi, I’m Debbie Moffitt. I’m going to be telling you some more things about my book “A Deadly Haunting.”
One of the things that we noticed about Mr. Entity was… he had an association with water. Mr. Entity liked to do a lot of strange things with water. We used to have a problem where he would make, actually make water… there’d be like the light fixture on the ceiling, water would actually come out of light fixtures. And would come out of the sockets in the wall, and the on and off switch. We used to have to tape up on and off switches so people didn’t just go by and click them on not thinking that they could get electrocuted from the water.
He also did one thing that I’ll always remember. One night we were all in the family room watching television and I heard like water in the distance. I got up and as I got up I noticed on the floor in the kitchen in the little room there, there was like water on the ground. So I kinda traced it to see where it was coming from and when I got to the hall where the stairs where, from the stairs if you looked at the stairs it was like a waterfall. And I mean like a waterfall. Like you see on the side of a mountain. And I remember staring at it and I just couldn’t believe it because the water was just coming down and it was just unbelievable. One thing it was, at the bottom of the stairs the house has a step-down living room so all the water was coming this way in the house… most of the water filled up the living room, so it was completely flooded. And I remember calling for people to come and help and I remember staring at the stairs trying to figure out where the water was coming from a I remember counting it was the third stair down. The water was just coming out of it like… just coming out of it like a faucet had been turned on. And I remember my father-in-law said some type of pipe must have broke upstairs. So he held onto the railing and he crawled upstairs. Nothing was broke, nothing was going on, so we knew it was Mr. Entity after that. And I remember running in, trying not to kill myself with the water and I remember looking at the mirror and saying “Mr. Entity, stop please. Stop it.” And he did. It was like a switch went click and the minute I asked him to stop for some reason the water just stopped. Of course there was still a flood everywhere. It took us the rest of the night to clean up and we had to have vacuums, a wet-vac to dry out the living room. But, he always loved water even when he spoke it was in the bathroom over the sink on the mirror. Also the swimming pool. He used take anything people did like people would come to the house and they would… well we had people, we had witches, magicians, everyone… and they would have their paraphernalia and they would leave like candles and things… Mr. Entity would take them and he would throw them in the pool. Everything.
I remember The Warrens brought religious medals that they had blessed and we had just… we were supposed to put them at all the corners of the house. And Mr. Entity went around and took all the medals and threw them in the swimming pool. So, he just had this thing with water. Eventually the swimming pool… and we used to have somebody who came to clean the swimming pool every week and how do you explain to why at the bottom of your swimming pool are, are big candles and religious items, I mean it was like… you can’t explain it to people. So my Mother-in-law got so she said “It must be somebody in the neighborhood throwing the things in the pool.” Which was… what else can you tell people? So we did that, but then, eventually the pool turned black. I mean it was like first it went dark green, then it went black. And it was the worst smelling… it was horrid! And the pool guy came and knocked on the door and told us… he didn’t know why it turned black, he was putting in the proper chemicals. All kinds of things and he couldn’t get it to go back to normal. Finally we had to have the pool pumped out because it was just… nobody could make it go back to normal and it was, the smell was just putrid. So, I always think, when i think of water, I always think of Mr. Entity.
And our question this week has to do with Christmas. Julie asks: “what did Mr. Entity do during the Christmas season?”
It was very strange because it would seem like near the holidays, like the week of Christmas, Christmas and a few days after… he did absolutely nothing. It was like he was gone. Which would have been… to me, when I think of all the things he could have got into at Christmas time with the Christmas Tree and the religious things he would have… I would have thought he would have loved to… to cause havoc, but he didn’t. During this time, he was gone. So actually that was time every year when we knew we had a little peace and quiet. So, Merry Christmas to everyone and Happy Holidays!
